A SUSTAINABLE CHILDRENSWEAR REVOLUTION
What is ‘circular design’?
There's a lot written about what circular design is and isn’t. Circular design to Petit Pli is common sense! It is a design which eliminates waste before, during and after use.
Fashion's negative effects are far reaching; impacting every single human on our planet! However, extending clothing use-life is the fashion and textile industry’s most significant opportunity to reach 2030 waste targets (Waste Resources Action Programme, 2017). By extending clothing life by nine months alone, carbon and water footprints can be reduced by 20–30% each.
We aim to inspire the next generation of Humans - Little and Tall to value their garments, by designing solutions which are fit for purpose, realised through applying circular & human centred design principles and are engineered using clean energy.
The concept of Petit Pli is built upon using materials sustainably. Petit Pli's designs significantly reduce waste and CO2 emissions at the point of production, distribution and after purchase. Our garments grow up to 7 sizes – that’s 1 Petit Pli garment purchased in place of 7 traditional ones.
Petit Pli’s ripstop suits are made from recycled fabrics & have a mono-fibre construction - allowing them to be easily recycled at the end of their use!

Along with this, we’ve partnered with a manufacturer in Portugal that derives 30% of their energy from solar panels. Through its approach towards sustainability, Petit Pli hopes to instil slow-fashion values in growing children by inspiring them to value longevity and innovation in some of the most intimate products in our lives - clothes! Petit Pli is designing for the future of humanity - starting with the next generation.By 2025, we aim to upcycle millions of bottles and clothe the next generation of LittleHumans; to extend total garment life by millions of months!
Why are ‘fit for purpose’ solutions important?
We believe that designs which fulfil real human needs will never be thrown away. Did you know each year £140 million worth of clothing enters landfill? Our unused clothing is worth approximately £30 billion. These numbers are shocking, but suggest opportunity — an opportunity to design clothes that won’t endanger our future.
