Research collaboration with BFTT
We are kicking 2021 with a bang!
We are delighted to let you know about our research and development with BFTT (Business of Fashion Textiles & Technology) in partnership with:
University of the Arts London (UAL) - In the words of their Chancellor, Grayson Perry, UAL is “the world’s biggest factory for making trouble”. The institution is ranked top for Design and Art.
Centre for Sustainable Fashion - a part of UAL devoted to questioning and evolving the status quo of fashion.
University of Cambridge - Did you know it is the Earth’s fourth oldest surviving university! Its notable alumni includes the ever inspiring Stephen Hawking,Charles Darwin, and Bertrand Russell..
BFTT is a five year long industry-led project dedicated to distributing sustainable innovation inside the textile supply chain and the whole fashion industry.
Our project is part of BFTT Challenge 3: Re-modelling fashion: design practices and business models for sustainability. Within our project we hope to explore sub challenge themes focused on product design for extended value and business model innovation.
Alongside Petit Pli we have our friends and ambitious innovators - Save Your Wardrobe and Phoebe English. Together we will seek to test and experiment with mapping tools developed by the FTT and other industries and look to adopt these tools to help industry in encapsulating practice and recommend changes from design to production.
