PRIVACY POLICY — Petit Pli Community Map
Last updated: 25 April 2026
Petit Pli (Petit Pli Limited, registered in England & Wales) operates the Petit Pli Community Map mobile application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why, and your rights.
The short version
The App is designed to be private by default. We do not collect or store personal information. We do not use analytics, advertising IDs, or third-party trackers. Everything you mark as a favourite stays on your device.
1. What we collect
Approximate or precise location — only while you are actively using the App, and only to (a) show you nearby places via the "Near Me" filter and (b) centre the map on you when you tap the location button. Your location is never transmitted to our servers and is not stored. iOS handles this permission and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Favourites — when you tap the star on a place, the App stores the place's identifier in your device's local storage (iOS UserDefaults). This information never leaves your phone. To delete it, remove the App or use iOS's "Reset" controls.
2. What we do not collect
We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, account information, advertising ID (IDFA), payment details, contact list, photos, or analytics data. The App contains no third-party SDKs that track you.
3. How the App uses third-party services
The App fetches its data — places, guides, photos — from the following services. None of these services receive personally identifying information from the App; they only see standard network metadata such as your IP address, which is necessary to fulfil the request.
- Supabase (data hosting) — hosts our places database. The App reads from it; we do not write user data to it. Supabase Privacy Policy:
- Google Maps Platform — used only to load up-to-date opening hours for places listed in the App; this happens server-side, not from your device.
- Apple Maps and Google Maps — when you tap "Directions," the App opens these services in their respective apps or websites.
- Image content delivery networks (Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons, Petit Pli's e-commerce CDN) — to load photos of places.
4. Children's privacy
The App is intended for parents, guardians, and adults seeking family-friendly places. The App does not knowingly collect data from children, does not require sign-up, and does not contain advertising or in-app purchases.
5. Your rights
Because the App stores no personally identifying information about you, there is no data to access, export, or correct on our servers. To delete the favourites stored on your device, delete the App.
If you are a UK or EU resident and believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were made. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.
