PRODUCT CARE

Extend the life of your Petit Pli product.

Always check the label of your garment or included information pack to ensure you are following the recommended procedure. A cold, gentle machine cycle will take the best care of Petit Pli’s fabric and the planet. Do not iron, do not tumble dry, do not bleach. Easy.

Washing garments at 30°C or below vs hotter temperatures will save around 40% of your washing energy usage. A short spin cycle will further reduce water and energy consumption, whilst cleaning the garment sufficiently thanks to modern high performing detergents.

Fabric softener can hinder the water repellant coating of the textile. Reproofing is simple with a DWR technical spray found in most outdoor stores. Apply the spray straight after a wash, while the garment is damp.

When we design, we design for the future. We employ circular-economy principles into our products, by using recycled textiles, mono-fibre constructions, improving repairability, and looking into alternative business models. Our in-house development: patented growth technology alone saves a huge amount of water, CO2 and material waste.

All our garments are ethically manufactured in Portugal or London. They are designed for durability and have been rigorously tested to ensure they live up to our high standards. If you decide you no longer have use for your products, we encourage you to consider your options to avoid disposal. The hand me down economy for childrenswear is big and needs no introduction - other methods involve:  repairing, swapping or repurposing. You can also feel free to contact us to see if we are in need of a few testing units - we may be able to offer vouchers in return. Thanks to the growth technology, wasted years of storage is no longer required for sharing between siblings. All of these steps will extend the life of the item and reduce humanities environmental impact.

Recycling your used mono-material Petit Pli garments can be done at many locations. Below are several organisations working on this:

United Kingdom - Recycle Now

United States - Planet Aid

Our friends at HK Rita are developing a "Garment to Garment" recycling process - and we hope to use their positive innovation once it is ready for scaled recycling.
