Is it safe for my child?
Yes. Safety is our baseline, not an afterthought.
All Petit Pli childrenswear complies with UK childrenswear regulations, including cord safety and chemical safety requirements. Our garments are tested to ensure they meet strict standards for products worn by babies and children.
Formaldehyde testing
All fabrics are tested for formaldehyde and other restricted substances in line with UK and EU regulations. Our materials are Oeko-Tex certified or tested to equivalent non-toxic standards, meaning they are verified safe for direct contact with skin.
No PFAS or fluorocarbons in our DWR
For our water resistant outerwear, we use a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish. That means no PFAS, no PFCs and no “forever chemicals”. Our coating technology is certified free from fluorocarbons, so you get performance without unnecessary chemical risk.
No chemicals used to create the folding mechanism
The expanding function of our garments is mechanical, not chemical. The pleats are engineered through structure and heat-setting techniques, not through coatings or chemical treatments that sit on the surface. Nothing is sprayed or added to make it “grow”. It is always built into the textile itself.
We design with aerospace precision, but always for a child’s everyday life. Every stitch, fibre and finish is selected with safety, durability and responsible manufacture in mind.
If you ever have a specific question about materials or certifications, just ask.
How does it work?
We developed and patented a textile that grows in two directions, so each piece follows your LittleHuman through up to seven sizes. The pleats open as they grow and the fabric remembers its shape, so it shrinks back after every wear.
Adjustment tabs at the waist, ankles and wrists (depending on the piece) fine-tune the fit. Nothing else to do: no resizing, no replacing it every few months.
How do I wash it?
A 30°C machine wash and of course no ironing needed! One more thing off your plate.
Our Versatile Ripstop range also features non-toxic stain repellant coatings to ensure longevity.
Is it built to last?
Yes! The advanced textile moves to prevent high friction strain. We're so certain your LittleHuman can't rip through Petit Pli that we offer a Free Repair Guarantee.
What about nappy changes?
The unique growth structure grows around pampers for the perfect fit. No fiddly snaps means fast, Formula 1 style changes.

Play with your suit!
Hidden within every fold of the garment, is a playful spot-the-detail game. Children are encouraged to find shapes, count patterns and call out colours, turning the simple act of getting dressed into a tactile moment of learning and fun for multiple stages of development.
Every Mini and Little garments include a Pattern Slip, a small fabric guide showing motifs taken directly from the print they are wearing, creating a pocket-sized invitation to look closer.
Celebrating a world where tradition and technology grow side by side.
This series invites LittleHumans to discover familiar shapes and stories that echo from their clothing into the world around them.
Each artwork was picked to reflect the ever-evolving spirit of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s national collection, and to speak in a visual language little eyes can understand.
